Greater Harvest A.M.E. Church was founded in November 2001 to meet the need of the increasing population growth in the high desert communities and the African Methodist Episcopal members located in the area. In October of 2002, Greater Harvest was officially accepted into the African Methodist Episcopal Fifth District and thus joined the A.M.E. organization.
Greater Harvest A.M.E. Church has since expanded to include a Young People's Department, a steadily growing choir/praise team and an adult and youth usher board ready and willing to serve. The scope of our community services include providing food and clothing assistance to the homeless, writing letters to uplift and save the souls of the incarcerated, encouraging literacy through our book giveaways, enhance health care knowledge and provide resume building workshops and utility assistance for families in our community.
The needs of our communities seem to be growing by the day. We the members of the Greater Harvest African Methodist Episcopal Church know we have come this far by faith and the sixteen years that we have labored in this vineyard have been most rewarding, for we know only what we do for Christ will last. Greater Harvest AME Church is currently expanding to meet these needs. Over the years, we have learned that what people need most is someone who will listen to their concerns - someone they can turn to for support when the going gets tough, someone who will love them unconditionally and Greater Harvest A.M.E. Church is the vessel that will lead them to Christ.
